In response to the recent revisions to laws by the Legislative Yuan and the Executive Yuan's decision to review them, the DPP has planned a series of rural tours for public education. The KMT has announced counteractions with large-scale street speeches in all 22 counties and cities, starting in Tainan. DPP Secretary-General Lin Juo-chang revealed that the DPP will hold speaking events in Hualien, New Taipei, and Taipei on June 14, 15, and 16, respectively, focusing on "Protecting Democracy, Anti-Abuse of Power" to deepen the public's understanding of current political events. The choice of starting in Hualien signifies the relevance to the initiator of the related bill, KMT Deputy Convener Fu Kun-chi.
