As the period from Small Heat to Major Heat is considered the hottest time of the year, Central Weather Bureau warns of extreme heat today reaching up to 38 degrees in Taiwan due to the influence of Pacific high-pressure systems. Meteorologist Wu Derong also cautions about possible afternoon convection, advising people to be cautious. The weather is expected to remain hot for the upcoming week, and thunderstorms are forecasted in mountainous areas as well as in some flatlands and other mountainous regions, posing threats like lightning, strong winds, heavy rain, and hail. It is recommended to avoid sun exposure, heatstroke, and potential heat injuries during this period.
