On June 15, 2024, a fire broke out at the Criminal Bureau in Taipei, with the fire originating in the storage room on the 2nd floor of the surveillance building, burning an area of about 1 square meter. The fire department dispatched 17 fire trucks, 2 ambulances, and 53 personnel for rescue efforts, extinguishing the fire by 8:48 pm with no casualties reported. The exact cause of the fire, suspected to have started in the ammunition depot on the 2nd floor, is still under investigation.
