Former Mayor of Taoyuan and current Chairman of the Taiwan Strait Exchange Foundation, Zheng Wen-Can, was questioned by the Taoyuan District Prosecutor's Office on suspicion of receiving a bribe of NT$5 million related to the Lin-kou Gongwu land expansion corruption case. Following overnight interrogation, the district court ruled to grant him bail of NT$5 million and imposed restrictions on his residence and travel. Zheng Wen-Can denies the allegations, and the court found no necessity for detention. Other defendants involved in the case were also detained, with one being granted bail due to old age. The case, which dates back 7 years, involves a significant amount of evidence and testimonies, leading to restrictions on the defendants' movements and contacts.
