Goldman Sachs has promoted Stefan Duffner to head its activism and shareholder advisory efforts in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) amid a growing demand from corporations seeking defense against activist investors. Duffner, who has been with Goldman since 2005, will also retain his role overseeing M&A for the consumer retail group in EMEA.
