Famous media personality Zhang Yushao apologized for inappropriate remarks towards political advisor Yin Wei, commented on by Lo Chih-chiang. Lo Chih-chiang sought compensation of 300,000 for defamation, but the Taipei District Court ruled Zhang must pay 100,000 for spreading false information without verification. Despite Zhang claiming he heard about Lo Chih-chiang asking Yin Wei for a briefcase from a former party official, the court found his comments malicious. Yin Wei and witnesses denied the incident occurred, and the court noted Zhang's comments caused Lo Chih-chiang reputational harm, yet found his criticism of the party culture justified and not requiring compensation.
