On June 23, 2024, Taichung's East District experienced heavy rainfall leading to flooding and mudslides. Rainfall exceeded 70 millimeters between 3 to 4 pm, causing accumulation of water on Dongkeng Road. Slippery roads combined with driver inattention resulted in 2 accidents, with one involving a hit-and-run. The local residents faced challenges due to the flooding and mud, prompting concerns over drainage issues and safety precautions during unstable weather conditions.
