According to police statistics, counties outside of the six major cities in Taiwan, specifically Changhua and Yunlin, have the highest number of fraud cases, mainly related to investment scams. An elderly man in Changhua fell victim to such a scam through a LINE group, losing 2 million. Investment fraud has been rapidly growing, with over 11,775 cases reported last year, a 79.99% increase, leading to concerns. The government has introduced the 'New Anti-Fraud Four Laws' to combat these crimes, aiming to strengthen penalties and regulations on virtual currencies and money laundering, aligning with efforts to tackle scams despite challenges posed by international crime control.
