On June 15, 2024, the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) announced that all five domestic routes and 78% of international routes at Kaohsiung Airport have resumed, with flight numbers at 87.5% and 83% respectively compared to pre-pandemic levels. The CAA plans to encourage airlines to add new routes to Kumamoto, Okayama, and Sapporo during the upcoming winter schedule. Minister of Transportation Li Meng-Yan praised the efforts to revitalize the airport post-pandemic and emphasized the importance of continued airline presence. Construction plans for a new terminal at Kaohsiung Airport were also discussed to meet public expectations and ensure safety during the process.
