During an interview, People Party chairman Ke Wen-Zhe expressed that what would destroy a country is not natural disasters or plagues, but crazy leaders, using Hitler as an example. However, his statement was rebuffed by the Presidential Office spokesperson, who viewed Ke as insulting Taiwan's democracy and freedom. Ke responded by reminding that Hitler was elected by the German people through a 'democratic constitutional system.' He emphasized that Lai Ching-te must respect the law for the people to respect the president's position, otherwise, respect for the president will disappear if Lai leads in violating the law.
