Labor Ministry Clarifies: Over 32,000 People Approved for Multiple Exemption without the Need for Barthel Scale

Reported about 1 year ago

A report has sparked discussion about the removal of the Barthel Scale as a criterion for applying for foreign caregivers in long-term care families, potentially leading to longer assessment times. The Ministry of Labor clarifies that since October 2023, over 32,000 people have been approved for multiple exemptions, with more than 23,000 being elderly citizens over 80 years old, comprising over 70% of the approvals. This new approach simplifies the application process and reduces assessment costs for families in need of foreign caregivers.
