During the review of the amendment draft of the 'Public Officials Election and Recall Act' in the Internal Affairs Committee on July 4, DPP legislator Luo Meiling's assistant brought in a plate of red dragon fruits for everyone to enjoy. Conflict erupted between DPP and KMT legislator groups during the process, and a break was called. At noon, DPP legislator assistants served dragon fruits which led to selfie-taking and pointed remarks toward legislator Mai Yuzhen, who previously admitted to bringing dragon fruit back to Vietnam for cultivation. Mai was absent during the conflict, and the unexpected dragon fruit incident added a light-hearted touch amidst the tensions.
