In Taiwan, there is an increasing number of cases of lonely deaths among the elderly, posing challenges for local authorities in handling the aftermath when there are no family members available. This has led to instances where local representatives are forced to stay with the deceased for hours due to difficulties in obtaining family information. Suggestions have been made for the government to establish specialized channels to address this administrative gap and improve the handling of such cases, which have become more common in recent years.
