Man Dies Falling from Building to Escape Gambling Debt in New Taipei City

In New Taipei City's Zhonghe District, a 33-year-old man surnamed Yu fell to his death from a building while trying to escape gambling debts, inadvertently colliding with a 27-year-old woman named Lin. Yu suffered fatal injuries while Lin sustained minor injuries. Police investigations revealed that Yu and a friend, surnamed Yang, had a dispute over gambling debts which led to a physical altercation. Two suspects have been apprehended and others involved have been identified for further investigation. The incident echoes a similar tragic event from the 1980s, known as the 'Grilled Meat Sticky Rice Incident,' where a falling person accidentally killed a passing vendor selling meat sticky rice.
