When police arrived, Liu furiously berated them with vulgar language and even slapped an officer. He was immediately arrested and sentenced to 4 months for drunk driving and 55 days for assault, in addition to compensating two officers with 25,000 NT each. Liu's case was considered a public danger offense and obstruction of official duties, with the Taipei District Prosecutors Office pressing charges and the Northern District Court issuing a summary judgment due to his confession during the trial process.
