In Taipei's Neihu District, a man surnamed Yu born in 1966 mistakenly joined an investment group on Facebook and was scammed for over a million NT dollars. After seeking police assistance, Yu cooperated with the authorities to ambush and arrest a driver during a planned face-to-face exchange. The scam group provided a fake investment app for Yu to operate, leading to him unknowingly investing a substantial amount until he realized the scam. Police seized counterfeit ID cards and receipts as evidence. The case has been transferred to the Shilin District Prosecutors Office for further investigation.
