The sponsorships, organized by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, exceed the league's salary cap and are being looked into by the WNBA. Davis highlighted the need for more financial opportunities for WNBA players and emphasized the positive impact of such deals on the players and their communities. This is the second time in two years that the Aces have been investigated by the WNBA, with a previous investigation involving accusations of offering impermissible benefits to a former player.
