Taipei's Far Eastern Shangri-La will host the 'Starry Feast Shangri-La' guest chef event from June 26 to 30, featuring the third-generation heir of 'Szechuan Hotel,' Chen Jiantaro, who earned a Michelin star from the 'Singapore Michelin Guide,' serving as guest chef at Shanghai Zuiyue Restaurant on the hotel's 39th floor. This event brings classic dishes like the iconic 'Chen Mapo Tofu,' 'Green Pepper and Beef,' 'Dry-Braised Lion's Head Fresh Fish,' 'Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork,' and 'Crab Roe Liver Soup,' showcasing the seven flavors of Chen's ancestral Szechuan cuisine blending sour, spicy, sweet, bitter, fragrant, and salty. Lunch sets start at NT$2,288 per person, and dinner sets start at NT$2,888 per person, with a weekend culinary class option available. Chen Jiantaro, the third-generation heir of Szechuan Hotel, continues the family tradition by merging traditional flavors with a Japanese touch, creating innovative dishes that have earned the Singapore branch two Michelin stars yearly since 2016 and a one-star in 2023.
