In New Taipei City, on June 29, 2024, the police received a report of individuals wielding knives, but upon arrival, found no one. Surveillance footage revealed that the two groups were initially negotiating on the roadside and when they saw the police car, one group jumped onto the other's vehicle to escape. However, they were stopped within 500 meters, subdued by the police, and found with machetes, bats, and methamphetamine. The suspects were confrontational and resisted before being apprehended. The incident occurred during the morning rush, alarming passersby as the groups brandished weapons openly. One of the suspects was wanted for fraud and drugs, while the others were charged under the Social Order Maintenance Act. They not only face legal consequences but also damage to their friendship.
