New Taipei City police have proactively deployed for the summer to strengthen enforcement targeting youth-related issues, such as exposure to new drugs, e-cigarettes, and gang recruitment. Mayor Hou Yu-yi emphasized ensuring youth safety in various venues through diligent measures, as part of the 'Youth Project' running from July 1 to August 31. The city government aims to maintain safety and reduce incidents through integrated efforts with multiple agencies and police substations. Mayor Hou and Police Chief Liao Hsun-cheng held a meeting for the project at the Luzhou Police Substation. Measures include crackdown on crime, protection of minors, and joint inspections to create a safe environment for youth activities during summer.
