Reported 9 months ago

In New Taipei's Bitan District, a man in black with a shaven head fired 16 shots in broad daylight, leaving bullet holes covering the iron gate of a motel. The 26-year-old suspect later surrendered to police, claiming he was provoked and assaulted by people inside the motel before the shooting. Rumors suggest the incident may be related to a conflict over gambling interests between gangs in Taipei. The gunman, associated with the Bamboo Union gang, is currently under investigation for firearms violations and intimidation.
