A semiconductor research facility in upstate New York has been chosen as one of three national technology centers and will receive up to $825 million in funding to enhance the U.S. semiconductor industry's competitiveness. Senator Chuck Schumer announced that the Albany NanoTech complex will focus on advanced semiconductor technology, particularly extreme ultraviolet lithography. This initiative is part of broader efforts from the federal government to ensure the U.S. maintains a leading role in chip manufacturing, ultimately aiming for the country to produce 20% of the world's advanced chips.
