NFL fans sue league over Sunday Ticket package

Reported 11 months ago

NFL fans have filed a class-action suit against the league over the Sunday Ticket package, alleging antitrust violations and forcing fans to pay for out-of-market games that were shown on CBS and FOX in other markets. The suit, covering almost 2.5 million subscribers from 2012 to 2022, seeks $21 billion in damages, with the Sunday Ticket rights previously held by DirecTV and switched to Google-owned YouTube TV in 2023 for $449 per season. This legal action comes as stocks aim to close the week positively on the NYSE amid GameStop's net sales drop and the U.S. economy adding 272,000 jobs in May.
