The World Health Organization's vision for 2020 was to 'reduce inequalities in oral health', emphasizing that vulnerable and impoverished groups cannot access oral care. The International Dental Alumni Association stated that ensuring dental care for disadvantaged groups is a collective responsibility and should not be hindered by selfishness or narrow-minded personal views. With 3.82 million people in Taiwan residing in dental underserved areas, the association stresses the importance of upholding the health rights of residents in remote and vulnerable communities and calls out attempts to discredit the government's efforts to improve basic medical needs in these regions.
