During Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's visit to China from June 6 to 8, a joint statement by China and Pakistan regarding UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 claimed that the resolution is unquestionable and non-negotiable, with Pakistan reiterating its adherence to the One-China principle. Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned and refuted these absurd and ignorant statements, reiterating that Taiwan is a democratic country separate from authoritarian China, and emphasizing that Resolution 2758 only addresses China's representation at the UN and not Taiwan's status. Taiwan reaffirmed its commitment to democracy and vowed to continue strengthening collaborations with like-minded partners to resist China's political coercion and protect global economic security and stability in the Taiwan Strait.
