New Taipei City's vast area, coupled with rapid population influx in certain areas, has led to a surprising disparity in population numbers between the largest and smallest neighborhoods, reaching over 200 times difference. This has resulted in challenges in providing adequate manpower and resource services, with neighborhoods with larger populations increasing the workload for neighborhood leaders. The Civil Affairs Bureau is planning to divide larger neighborhoods into smaller ones to distribute resources evenly, aiming to address this issue by 2026.
