Reported about 1 year ago

On July 9, 2024, Taiwan stocks were volatile, with the foreign exchange market lacking support, leading to the New Taiwan Dollar closing at 32.54, a depreciation of 4.7 cents. The upcoming testimony of Federal Reserve Chairman Powell at Congress increased market caution, causing the USD index to rise and non-USD currencies to decline. With external funds shifting from inflows to outflows and trust funds increasing their outflows, the New Taiwan Dollar approached 32.6 before the central bank intervention, resulting in a closing rate of 32.54, down by 4.7 cents with a total turnover of 1.62 billion USD.
