Reports of a rat infestation at the New Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A8 food court in Taipei resulted in chaos as a rat was spotted moving around by the window where food was being served, prompting a cashier to scream and a chef to grab an umbrella to try and catch the rodent. The Taipei City Health Bureau has dispatched personnel to investigate, and if violations are found, fines of up to 20 million NT dollars can be imposed. The bureau is conducting inspections on food safety and hygiene standards and will take necessary actions to ensure compliance.
