The Taiwan Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 623 new confirmed COVID-19 cases with complications last week, marking an increase from the previous week. Of the cases, 79% were individuals aged 65 and older, and there were also 38 new deaths, with 90% of them in the same age group. Additionally, there was a severe case in an infant reported. The CDC emphasized the importance of vaccination to reduce severe outcomes, with available Moderna and Novavax vaccines and advised prompt vaccination for those who have not yet received it. They also recommended using at-home COVID-19 test kits for individuals with symptoms and seeking medical attention accordingly.
