Rise in Crimes at South Korea's Unmanned Stores - People Occupying Premises Overnight and Stealing Ice Cream

Reported 8 months ago

In just 3 years, the number of unmanned stores in South Korea has increased 17 times, but theft cases are also on the rise. Criminals are occupying store premises overnight, eating food for free, blocking entry with refrigerators, and even stealing ice cream multiple times a month from unmanned stores. Police reveal that an average of 13 theft cases occur at unmanned stores daily in 2022, prompting some store owners to install conscience mirrors hoping to deter criminals by making them see their actions and reduce crime.
