Sempra Stock Plummets After Lowering Profit Forecast

Reported about 12 hours ago

Sempra's stock fell nearly 20% on Tuesday, becoming the biggest decliner in the S&P 500 after the company reported disappointing fourth-quarter results and reduced its 2025 profit forecast. The gas and electric utility announced adjusted earnings per share of $1.50 on revenues of $3.76 billion, which, although an improvement year-over-year, was below analyst expectations. Sempra attributed the lowered outlook to regulatory matters and increased costs, setting a new foundation for future growth.
