Starbucks is laying off 1,100 corporate employees worldwide as part of a streamlining effort led by new Chairman and CEO Brian Niccol. The layoffs, which will be communicated to employees by Tuesday, aim to improve efficiency and reduce operational complexity. Alongside job cuts, several hundred unfilled positions will also be eliminated. Niccol aims to enhance service times and re-establish stores as community hubs while adapting menu items and ordering systems to meet changing customer needs.
