Su Jianhe, who was wrongfully convicted and spent 11 years in prison, attended the graduation ceremony of East China University of Political Science and Law (ECUPL) today as a representative of the Human Rights Master's Program. After being exonerated in 2012, Su Jianhe joined an NGO and later pursued a degree in human rights at ECUPL. ECUPL had a total of 2487 bachelor's, 255 master's, and 8 doctoral students graduating this year. Su Jianhe, involved in a murder case at 19, was wrongfully convicted but declared innocent in 2012. Today, as a human rights graduate, he aims to contribute to Taiwan's progress towards a more democratic and rule-based society.
