A report released by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) on June 27 revealed that due to prolonged civil war since April last year, over half of Sudan's population is now facing a food crisis. The UN World Food Programme official mentioned before the IPC report that over 25 million Sudanese are in hunger. Additionally, about 4 million children in Sudan are malnourished and 17 million are out of school. The escalating conflict has led to severe shortages in medicine as well, threatening more deaths from hunger and illness if the war persists.
