As of June 15, 2024, Taiwan continues to experience high temperatures with mainly cloudy to sunny skies. Due to the influence of the southwest wind, temperatures remain high throughout the island, with occasional localized brief showers south of Miaoli. The Central Weather Bureau warns of extreme temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees in Taitung, while Taipei, New Taipei, and Hualien may also exceed 36 degrees. Next week, the weather will be mostly sunny with isolated brief showers in the south-central regions. Hot and humid conditions persist, with a possibility of heat bursts in the southeast. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and use sunscreen when outdoors. The following week will see typical summer thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoons, with potential rainfall and increased temperatures.
