Taipei Dome May Host Concerts in the Second Half of the Year, According to Vice Mayor Lee Sichuan

Reported 8 months ago

After years of delays, Taipei Dome, which opened last year, currently only hosts sports events. The possibility of holding concerts is restricted by the usage permit. Taipei City Council's Kuomintang caucus proposed to request the city government to seek interpretation from the Ministry of the Interior, while the Democratic Progressive Party caucus objected, leading to further review. Taipei Vice Mayor Lee Sichuan mentioned that the city government does not need approval from the council but aims to reach consensus. It is expected that by July, another request will be sent to the Ministry of the Interior, with hopes of organizing concerts at Taipei Dome in the second half of the year. Safety concerns and economic development have been the focus of discussions among different political parties regarding event regulations.
