Director Osayama Hiroshi's first work, 'The Sun Inside Me,' emerged as the big winner in the Taipei Film Festival's International New Directors competition. The jury chaired by Yūji Sadao selected the best film and a $10,000 prize for the Tunisian-American director Maria Jobe's 'No Gunpowder Under the Eaves.' 'The Sun Inside Me' received the Special Jury Prize, Audience Choice Award, Taiwan Directors' Association Recommended Award, and Audience Choice Award for the external competition. The awards ceremony was hosted by actor Leung Ching-Kwan, with the Best Film going to 'No Gunpowder Under the Eaves' and the Special Jury Prize to 'The Sun Inside Me' for its storytelling, cinematography, and emotional depth.
