According to TTV News Online, on July 5, 2024, at 9:15 PM, the Chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation, Zheng Wencan, was taken in by the Taoyuan District Prosecutors Office on suspicion of involvement in a land development case and corruption charges. After overnight questioning, he was detained and denied visits. The court is expected to hold a hearing in the afternoon for further details. The Taoyuan District Prosecutors Office confirmed that prosecutors are investigating Zheng for violation of the Anti-Corruption Act. Zheng was arrested for alleged bribery in connection with his official duties, indicating a significant suspicion of crime, leading to the arrest application and visitation prohibition.
