Reported about 1 year ago
During the sales period of the Taichung project 'Baoyu Fengyun,' buyers were illegally required to pay a 100,000 NTD deposit before being allowed to take the contract back for review. Upon investigation by the Fair Trade Commission, this practice was deemed to disrupt transaction order, resulting in a 300,000 NTD fine imposed on the developer Baoyue Company. The company defended themselves by claiming unfamiliarity with the sales process since March 2023, but the Commission countered that such restrictions are in violation of the Fair Trade Act and disadvantageous to buyers. The incident reflected the lack of accessible information for home buyers in Taiwan's real estate market.
