Former President Tsai Ing-wen, who had not made any public appearances since stepping down on 520, attended the grand opening of the 'Chiayi Fuyo Voco Hotel' today, marking her first public event after leaving office. In her speech, Tsai expressed her feelings of not wanting to always hide at home. Alongside Tsai, former Premier Su Tseng-chang, Chiayi Mayor Huang Min-hui, and Chiayi County Magistrate Weng Chang-liang were also present at the event. Tsai discussed the development of Chiayi's technology industry and expressed optimism for attracting talent and entrepreneurs to the region, emphasizing the importance of the reopening of the Alishan Forest Railway in the next month as a significant milestone that will boost tourism in Chiayi.
