On June 15, 2024, before 4:10 PM Taipei time, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, in collaboration with the AIT (American Institute in Taiwan), held a press conference at the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Grand Hall for the '2024 SelectUSA Taiwan Startups Delegation Pre-Departure Meeting'. SelectUSA, the largest U.S. investment promotion event, annually selects startups in key industry sectors for international-level investment and cross-border business cooperation opportunities. This year, from June 23 to 26, Deputy Director Wu Jiaying of the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs will lead a delegation of 19 startups to the U.S. to compete in the HealthTech, ICT/Software, CleanTech, and Open Tech categories of the SelectUSA Tech program. Nine promising Taiwanese startups have advanced to the finals, ranking first globally, followed by Israel with six. Among the selected finalists are companies in the fields of HealthTech, ICT/Software, CleanTech, and Open Tech. In addition to these nine, the Ministry of Economic Affairs is taking ten other outstanding startups to the U.S. to explore business opportunities.
