Taiwan Semiconductor Giant TSMC's D-ONE Mall Breaks Ground with K-pop Concert Drawing over Ten Thousand Fans

The groundbreaking ceremony for the largest shopping center in Taiwan, 'D-ONE First World', located in Wuri District, Taichung City, was held today with notable figures like Chairman Yokoshima Eiichi, Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen, and Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Yuan, Jason Hsu, in attendance. The event also featured a performance by K-pop idol MAMAMOO's member Moonbyul, which attracted over ten thousand fans despite the hot weather. With an estimated total investment of over 26 billion NT dollars, the project is expected to accommodate 800 to 1,000 businesses and generate an annual revenue of around 35 billion NT dollars, positioning it as not only Taiwan's largest department store and shopping entertainment center but also as the 'TSMC of the retail industry'. Mayor Lu Shiow-yen expressed that the development is projected to be completed by the end of 2026, offering 18,000 job opportunities and boosting Taichung's economy.
