Taitung County Civil Affairs Chief Lin Hongyi allegedly behaved disorderly, engaged in a conflict with civilians, and threatened police while intoxicated on the night of June 27. Lin Hongyi expressed that he doesn't remember his actions due to intoxication, apologized publicly, and will self-reflect and self-discipline for his misconduct. Video footage posted by locals on social media accused him of pretending to be a police officer, causing trouble and harassment. Police clarified that the situation was resolved peacefully without physical conflict, and Lin Hongyi has verbally reported the incident to the authorities and requested disciplinary action pending investigation.
