In New Taipei City, a pet owner residing in an apartment complex in Banqiao constructed an additional floor on the rooftop to keep a large number of pets, resulting in noise and odor disturbances to neighbors. Past violations and a previous eviction from a different property due to excessive pet ownership were revealed. Despite repeated warnings and complaints from neighbors, the owner increased the number of pets from 63 to 81. The owner was fined nearly 500,000 NT dollars for not complying with regulations on animal welfare and care, including the failure to spay or vaccinate the animals.
