On March 23, a police officer from the Taoyuan Police Department's Jinfu Substation, Tsai Chun-yu, engaged in a pursuit and exchange of gunfire with a suspect who had opened fire and fled. Despite being shot in the shoulder and falling, Tsai Chun-yu courageously fired back, leading to the capture of the criminal. His heroic act led to a promotion recommended by the police bureau and approved by the Ministry of the Interior, with the award ceremony presided over by the Taoyuan Police Chief Wu Kun-hsu. Tsai's father, a fellow police officer, also attended the ceremony. Police Chief Wu praised Tsai's dedication and reminded all officers to uphold safety standards while on duty to maintain public security in Taoyuan.
