Taiwanese politician and Tainan City Fishermen's Association director Lin Shijie was assassinated in front of his home in Tainan, marking the most serious security incident in Tainan since the 88 Shooting Incident. Former legislator Guo Zhengliang pointed out that the case involving Lin Shijie has numerous related interests, indicating an unusual severity as Prosecutor General Xing Taizhao personally ordered the Southern Prosecutor's Office and police to jointly investigate the case.
