In New Taipei, there are over 21,000 taxis with many drivers working nearly 12-hour shifts to increase their earnings. However, compared to Taipei, New Taipei lacks in taxi service stations, facilities, and parking benefits, with only 3 service stations offering limited facilities and operating hours. Suggestions have been made by council members to enhance the welfare of taxi drivers in New Taipei, such as providing better resting areas and parking benefits to align with those offered in Taipei. Measures are being taken, like the opening of the An-Keng taxi service station by the end of this year, to address these issues and improve the overall welfare of taxi drivers in the region.
