Reported about 1 year ago
On the evening of June 7th, in Jiaxian Township, Chiayi County, as heavy rain hit the mountainous area causing the creek to surge, an angler fishing at the Qingshui Park got stranded on a large rock, unable to move. After receiving a report, rescuers arrived to find the man unharmed but in a precarious situation. With the swift and muddy water making it challenging for a rescue, firefighters ultimately managed to secure and save the man using ropes, although they nearly got swept away in the strong current. The 32-year-old angler was fishing at the Puzi Creek when heavy rain caused the water levels to rise rapidly, prompting his rescue after bystanders called for help. During the rainy season, it is crucial for people to be cautious near mountainous areas to prevent such dangerous incidents.
