On June 25, 2024, at 1:25 am, Cambodian authorities busted a drug trafficking case led by Taiwanese nationals, seizing up to 145 kilograms of drugs. The 3 Taiwanese, 1 mainland Chinese, and 1 Japanese arrested could potentially face life imprisonment. The police received information that a group of Taiwanese individuals were active in drug trafficking in Phnom Penh and several provinces. The crackdown led to the arrest of 5 drug traffickers, including the Taiwanese trio.
