TSMC's first semiconductor plant in Arizona is set to start production in early 2025, aiming to achieve a water recycling rate of 90% by constructing an industrial water recycling facility which is expected to be completed by 2027. This initiative will significantly reduce daily water consumption from 4.75 million gallons to 1 million gallons, emphasizing the importance of water conservation in semiconductor manufacturing. The plant's construction is part of TSMC's plan to establish three semiconductor plants in Arizona, with the first one producing 4-nanometer chips. The decision to enhance water recycling comes in response to concerns about water scarcity and its impact on the local community.
